How Our Mentoring Process Works

At Forward Thinking, we make joining our mentorship programs simple, clear, and supportive. From your first inquiry to the start of mentoring, we guide families and students through every step with transparency and care.

Inquiry & Initial Contact - Getting to Know the Student

When you reach out, we gather basic information about your child, their grade level, goals, and areas of focus. This helps us understand each student’s journey and determine the best program fit.

What You Provide:
  • Student’s grade and school
  • Goals, interests, or challenges
  • Key priorities for development

Our team admin will coordinate communications, track inquiry details, and act as your point of contact throughout the onboarding process.

Mentoring
Process Works

Consultation Call

This discovery conversation with a mentor explores:

  • Academic, social, and personal strengths
  • Aspirations and areas needing support
  • Questions about program structure and outcomes

Our admin will ensure the session is scheduled, asks for the necessary background information, and captures insights for seamless program planning.

Introductory Meeting - Assessing Goals, Strengths, and Challenges

Before finalizing the program plan, we hold an Introductory Meeting with the student and family with our founders.

  • Introduces the team and our approach to mentorship
  • Discusses initial goals, expectations, and learning style with initial program goals
  • Provides an overview of the mentoring journey and program structure
  • Offers the student a chance to ask questions and start building rapport

Tailored Recommendation - Designing a Personalised Mentoring Plan

Following the Introductory Meeting, we provide a personalized program recommendation, including:

  • Suggested mentoring program (e.g., Middle School, High School, Executive Functioning)
  • Goals, focus areas, and milestones
  • Session frequency and mentoring structure

The Student Support Specialist is assigned who will manage documentation, keeps families updated, and ensures any adjustments are captured efficiently.

Proposal & Agreement

Once the plan is finalized, we prepare a formal proposal, including:

  • Program details and schedule
  • Investment and payment options
  • Terms of engagement

Our team will review the proposal with the family, answer administrative questions, and ensure smooth completion of all onboarding paperwork.
